Ch. Jancada
Just In Time ex Arrowhill Southfork Song

"Griffin",
like “Snapper”, is one of my favorites. He
has also proven true to his name, finishing his AKC Championship in just 30
days!! He was co-bred with Marsha & Joy Waters, owners of his sire Ch.
Jancada Just In Time (below).

Griffin's dam,
Arrowhill Southfork Song , though never shown, was used as a brood bitch
on lease
to one other reputable breeder,
Jenny Satyavelu of Chimera
Collies .
Her call name was "Peaches" and she was the last of the original
Arrowhill dogs of Nina Campbell & Laurie Jeff Greer, exclusive
handler of Monki & Griffin. Of the 8 puppies Peaches ever had,
so far there are 2 champions. She was established by medical testing
as the genetic
normal
baseline for a number of inherited Collie diseases. In other words,
she was
perfectly clean and genetically free of these problems, and her test
results became the clinical base against which all other results are
measured.
Her legacy of superior health, grace, beauty, and temperament to the
breed lives
on in her offspring. I wish I could find some photos of her.

Griffin at age 4 - his first shows Griffin was started
in April 200 and finished in May 2000

Griffin is a very
fun dog. Excelling in soundness and expression, he represents a large part of
the future of Heirlair Collies. He was supposed to be bred to his half-sister,
Am.Can.Int'l. CH Jancada Heirlair Monkishines during their grand tour of
Europe. Unfortunately, Monki was unable to get pregnant and passed to the
Rainbow Bridge in April 2005 with heart failure (age 11). She spent much of
her time playing "second Mommy" to puppies born at the Alexanders.
Griffin has been
“frozen” here in the USA. As of December 2005 he is 10 years old, and still
actively siring for Europe. His
semen is stored with a reproduction specialist in Fort Collins, CO. for
future use.

Griffin at age 9
“Griffin” loves
kids, even if they don’t speak English. This is one of his special friends,
Phillip, who likes to share everything with Griffin, including
“weinerschnitziel”.
Griffin at The World Dog Show, Dortmund Germany June 2003
We were very excited in June 2003 to
attend the WORLD DOG SHOW. It was held in Dortmund, Germany and so close to
the Alexanders we thought, "Why not?". Because I had not yet
recovered sufficiently from my back surgery of the year before I decided to
send Griffin his handler instead. That's right; Laurie Jeff Greer, with
friend Carol Brim, went to Germany. Here are some
fotos of the day in Dortmund.
